Care & Materials

The waltz of fire and light continues in your hands.

Our Glass

Each Gabriela Seres piece is hand-blown from borosilicate 3.3 glass, valued for clarity, strength, and resistance to thermal shock. It is lead-free and crafted in our Bucharest atelier. Because every object is finished by hand, slight variations or tiny air bubbles may occur—these are hallmarks of true craftsmanship.

Everyday Care

  • Rinse or wash with lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
  • Use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth; avoid abrasive pads and powders.
  • For wax or tea stains, soak in warm water before cleaning.
  • Dry with a lint-free cloth to preserve the natural shine.
  • If a product page notes dishwasher suitability, use a delicate cycle below 60 °C / 140 °F.

Candle & Lighting Pieces

  • Place candles vertically on a stable, heat-safe surface and away from drafts.
  • Extinguish the flame before the wax pool reaches the glass base.
  • Never move a lit or hot glass object; allow it to cool before handling.
  • Remove wax by soaking the piece in warm water; avoid sharp tools.

Temperature & Use

Borosilicate glass tolerates high temperatures, but sudden thermal shock can still cause stress.

  • Allow a cold piece to reach room temperature before adding hot liquids—and vice versa.
  • Do not place pieces directly on open flame, stovetops, or electric burners.
  • Use coasters or trivets to protect delicate surfaces.

Sustainability & Repair

Longevity is our first principle of sustainability. If your piece is damaged, our atelier may be able to polish, re-form, or replace certain elements depending on the model. Reach out with photos and a short description—we’ll advise the best solution.

Packaging is recyclable, and we continually refine materials to balance protection with environmental responsibility.
